AppId is over the quota
Gazipur, Feb 1 (UNB) – Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said the government is arranging alternative to the World Bank funding for the Padma Bridge.
The matter will be clear by this February whose fund will be used for the construction of the Padma Bridge, he said, adding that “we’ve proposals from China, Malaysia and India for the project while the government also has some preparations of its own.”
Quader said the construction work of the Padma Bridge will begin during the remaining tenure of the present government.
He made the remarks after inaugurating the carpeting work on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Nayanpur point in Sripur upazila of Gazipur as part of making the highway into four lanes.
The Communications Minister said works on 26 kilometres will be completed by April next for turning the highway into four lanes.
Superintending Engineer of Dhaka Division Shahabuddin Ahmed, project director (No. 3 package) Engr Firoz Iqbal were, among others, present on the occasion.
